Day 1

We had tried very hard to get rid of our cupboards to Habitat for Humanity but they just did not seem that interested sadly. We then called everyone we knew and asked if they were needed and we were lucky enough to find one of our neighbours who was interested in them for his garage. Don spent the entire weekend removing as many of them as he could. Yippee, one less item in the landfill.

So January 5th arrives, it has snowed like crazy in New West and we are fairly sure that there will be no starting today. When you add this snow to what we alrady have what are the chances there will be a contractor sighting today.

Never under estimate the power of the contractor! Bright and early (7 am to be precise) the first fellow appears, shovel in hand to help clear a spot on the road for the vehicles. After shovelling the driveway, sidewalk, down the side of the house and up the stairs to the kitchen I feel like we are pretty much good to go.

The rest of the gang arrives and let the destruction begin

By the end of the day the kitchen was gutted right back to the studs. We still have a bathroom at this point.
